[Review] YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils Shocking in Deep Black 01

Bonjour!

I've always wanted natural yet dramatic lashes, so I decided to try the YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils Shocking in Deep Black 01. Okay, that was quite a mouthful to say :P This was $30 from Sephora.

The packaging of this mascara feels extremely luxurious, and the gold colors makes it feel classical XD

The mascara does make your lashes appear more voluminous and longer, and it's false lash effect is better than many other mascaras that claim to give a false lash effect. However, lashes can become a little clumpy and it's only average at separating and defining. I like how this mascara doesn't make your lashes all stiff and hard, leaving some flexibility to your lashes. A decently natural effect as well as a dramatic look can be achieved, which I found surprising because I expected to be only able to use this mascara for a dramatic look (this makes the mascara more versatile). The scent of the mascara is a little bothering and strong while applying, but it's tolerable.

- Versatile (dramatic or decently natural effect)

- Makes lashes appear more voluminous

- Lengthens

- Decent false lash effect

- Doesn't dry too stiff/hard

- Free of parabens

Cons:

- Scent

- Can be become a little clumpy

- Only average at separating and defining
